Part of the Kittinger experience is working with your designer to customize your pieces to your exact needs. We take great pride in focusing on the details that matter to you and make every piece unique. Here are just some of the details you pick.
Our finishes reflect pride and quality that has been passed from craftsman to craftsman for over 150 years.
Carefully applied to exacting standards, every piece is inspected and compared to our master samples. Our finishing process can involve up to 21 steps, 50 hours of handwork, and take upwards of 3 weeks to complete.
We offer six standard stains but are able to make custom stains as well.
Open-pore: Results in a satin finish
Closed-pore: Results in a glossy finish
Paints & Chinoiserie
Applied using complex techniques, we offer six standard paint colors in three finish styles.
Ancient: An aged appearance with distress marks and scarring
Antique: Smoother in appearance with carefully added distress marks
Crackle: Resembling charred wood it is our most complex finish
We are able to color match an Sherwin-Williams color.
Our Chinoiserie is hand painted with a design to your specifications.
Note: Chinoiserie can only be applied to certain pieces.
We offer a variety of banding options for our dining and office tables.
Our standard banding options are:
Rosewood & Satinwood
Yew & Walnut
If none of our standard options fit your needs, we are able to customize the banding on your piece.
Note: Table veneer is shown in a classic Mahogany veneer.
Leafing & Tooling
A delicate art, silver and gold leafing can be used to enhance details such as table tops, cabinets, chair legs, and mirror frames.
Kittinger craftsmen have been hand placing and varnishing thin sheets of silver and golf leaf since the late 1940's and the process has remained the same. Depending on the piece, this process can take up to a week to complete and require thousands of silver or gold leaves to complete.
Gold-tooled leather table and desk tops are crafted to your specifications. We are able to hand select hides from our main leather supplier to ensure durability and the desired cut. Multiple tooling wheels are used to create delicate designs in the leather with or without gold.
Although you can use any leather provider you want, we are able to supply leather from:
These suppliers cover a wide range of looks, durability, and price points.
Due to the custom nature of our products we do not limit you to a selection of fabrics.
We are able to order from numerous fabric companies such as Scalamandre, Jim Thompson, Kravet, and Duralee. You are also able to provide your own fabric and can have it shipped direct to our factory.
